In this section you will find links to our different curriculum subject areas, as well as our EYFS curriculum overview and our long-term curriculum map. Our core curriculum documents are designed to ensure that there are ample opportunities for children to master key foundational knowledge and skills, before moving onto the next stage of the curriculum. We have designed our foundation subject curriculum documents in the same way across all wider curriculum areas.
All identify substantive knowledge to be taught within each year group based on key substantive concepts that run vertically through the curriculum. In addition, we use dual objectives to ensure that children learn the skills required to work and think like an expert in the subject we are teaching. The skills and knowledge that we develop start within our Early Years and continue right through to our children leaving primary school, ready for their next step to Key Stage Three. Children cannot be withdrawn from studying the National Curriculum, however there are some exceptions to this in relation to religious education and sex education, which can be discussed upon request.
