Woodham Burn Primary and Nursery School is located in the heart of Newton Aycliffe. This is true not only for our geographical location: we are part of the local community and we are very proud of our community links.
With 250 pupils on roll it is always lively and interesting. We offer Breakfast Club and After School Club for our pupils to cater for the busy lives that we all lead.

Being a parent of two wonderful children, I know how vital primary school education is to a child’s development. Being Associate Head Teacher at Woodham Burn Primary School, is a responsibility I am passionate about and see it as an opportunity to help shape the lives of many children in our community.
Community has always been central in my vision whilst being a school leader. The proverb, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ is always at the forefront of my thinking and I want to build a school that values our local area and all the people who will have contact with our young people. Schools can’t do it alone, and I want to work with parents, carers and our community to provide every child with the very best start in life.
My aim is that every child leaves our school with high aspirations for their future. I want them to have gained the knowledge and skills to take on the next stage in their education with confidence so that they have the best chance of a successful life. I hope you find your time at Woodham Burn a positive one, and I look forward to working with you all.
